Description
This unique ceramic Medium Bone Crosses is a beautiful example of religious folk art, meticulously hand-painted and glazed by artisans from San Antonio Palopó, Guatemala, a center for vibrant pottery traditions. Both crosses feature a distinctive white shape with rounded, flared ends, and each is individually decorated: one cross showcases a symmetrical design of stylized blue plumes and central floral motifs (the “plain” pattern), while the other features an intricate, lively scene with a hummingbird and small bird accents set among flowing blue and green foliage (the “bird” pattern). These vibrant wall hangings powerfully celebrate Central American cultural motifs and the detailed, cheerful artistry of the Lake Atitlán region.
